The following frequently asked questions regarding the University policy, Class/ Examination Cancellation or Curtailment of Other University Activities or Services Due to Adverse Conditions has been prepared as a quick reference guide for employees. The Dalhousie main web page () carry up-to-date information if University activities or services are being curtailed as of 6:00 a.m. when possible. As well, the University switchboard (494-2211) will carry a recorded message and an announcement will be broadcast on CBC at 90.5FM and CKDU at 97.5FM. If a decision is made to curtail services or activities during the work day, a Notice Digest electronic broadcast will be issued. Each Vice-President, Dean and Administrative Director will be advised of the decision and they will notify each department or unit reporting to them of the decision. A public service message will be telephoned to radio stations in the Halifax area by Media Relations and an announcement will be lodged with the University switchboard staff and the Dalhousie website. 2. To whom should questions be addressed if there is a curtailment of activities during the work day? Questions regarding curtailment of activities, or the University Policy should be directed to Employee Relations, Personnel Services at 494-2962. It is not realistic to expect local radio stations to communicate this distinction when they are providing public service announcements and Dalhousie is one in a long list of institutions with an announcement to convey.
