The symptoms got progressively worse, and by the time I showed up I was in pain and completely deaf in my left ear. The doctor examined my ear and told me it was badly infected. He prescribed drops which came in a tiny container which had to be inserted into my ear in order for the drops to fall into the canal. The problem was that when the container was inserted, I couldn't see how many drops were dispensed. The thick solution stayed mostly in the outer canal, and caused severe irritation. Nevertheless, because I trusted the doctor, I continued with the prescribed treatment until the following Wednesday with no improvement. I made an appointment with my internist, who took one look and told me that it was simply was impacted against my eardrum and could easily be removed (he couldn't see my eardrum past the wax). There was no infection and no drops were necessary. He referred me to an oto specialist in his building who didn't take my insurance. Another day wasted. I have an appointment with an oto specialist close to my home on Thursday 7/23, who will easily remove the wax and restore my hearing and general comfort. They told me that I supposed to come in the day before and now I have to wait a line about 30 people ahead of me. After I said that my appointment was scheduled today (not the day before) they asked me: Do you have a proof? I had to make another appointment, but this time I've got a paper (proof). I needed to check after I was in Cedar-Sinai's ER and need to follow up as soon as possible. But, nobody cares. I wish I could afford the insurance and never come to this terrible place again... So, if you need an appointment - make sure you have a proof of it. Customer service is absent over there. I have no words to describe my disappointment. It doesn't deserve even 1 star.
