My right ankle was swelled up twice its normal size after tripping on something yesterday. The nurse practitioner had me get x-rays on my ankle. Iwas a little shocked that the medical assistant wad performing x-rays. When the nurse practitioner came into my room she told me there was no fracture that she could see, but they were going to send the x-rays to a radiologist to be read properly. She told me she was prescribing naproxen for my swelling. Which irritated me because I have on my medical records that I am taking a blood thinner called Warfarin. Any first-year nursing student would know that anti-inflammatories cannot be taken in conjunction with Warfarin. When I told her I could not take it because of my other medication she told me she was unaware I was on it. And I told her that goes to show she does not read any of the paperwork that the patients have to fill out in order to be seen. My list of medications only had three items on it with Warfarin spelled out in capital letters at the top of the list. Her error could have caused me to have internal bleeding. I will never go back to this place again and I advise anybody else needing medical attention to go to a real doctor's office.
