After waiting a couple of hours, we were finally told, when we pressed them for information, that it might be yet another couple of hours before we could be seen (this after four hours the night before, from Midnight until 4 AM, unsuccessfully seeking treatment at Georgetown University Hospital ER, which deserves an equally scathing review). Unfortunately, ours was not a high priority injury or medical condition, and by the time we insisted that the front desk at Shady Grove Hospital ER give us some idea of how much time we would still have to wait, we were told it would take longer than would normally be the case, because the Minor Injury Treatment unit was about to close, and we would now have to be included among the higher priority patients being treated in the Emergency Department. We finally left, without seeing a doctor or Physician's Assistant, and sought treatment at a late-night Urgent Care facility on the Pike, where we should have gone in the first place, and where we received excellent medical care to suture a laceration.
