The Summer Intensive Stuttering Workshop for Teens (aged 13-17) will take place over 5 consecutive days at the University of Washington Speech and Hearing Clinic. Through a combination of individual treatment sessions and group activities, teen participants will learn stuttering management and fluency-enhancing techniques, and work to transfer those skills into their real-life environments. Teens will work alongside their peers who also stutter to develop healthy attitudes and emotional responses to their stuttering. Parents of teens are also expected to participate during scheduled portions of the workshop including: a parent interview; a SLP-facilitated parent education discussion; a panel presentation with adults who stutter; and a final group presentation on the last day of the Workshop. I have been in here in the past and recall the doctors being very pleasant and helpful. I do not recall the receptionist being as awful as the one there today. I could tell she was incredibly rude when dealing with the person in front of me, who was, despite her rudeness, trying to be nice. She continued by being rude to me and, feeling as bad as I did, was not about to put up with it, so I left for Fast Track Urgent Care in Kensington. They were fantastic from beginning to end and had much better facilities and people who actually cared. The only sad aspect here is that your doctor changes after 1 year to a new Dr. It's always a sad feeling after sharing all your problems with, getting comfortable with he or she. You have to repeat allot of your story each time. Other than that I find every doctor to be precise with my meds, and refills, and very understanding of my demons in my life. Sometimes there is a glitch between you, your Dr. and your pharmacy for obtaining your meds. But I dare you to name any county services anywhere,to be any different. It's normal throughout county services. But,hey, it's FREE ! The intake workers out front are very well trained and helpful in getting your appointment times coordinated and booked. If my DR. can not be there on one, I'll get a call day before. Finally, the building itself is only about 8-10 yrs old and is very clean.
