In this case I had an emergency that needed immediate attention, which I did receive. Luckily there were no other patients waiting, so I was quickly received and I spent about 16 minutes waiting for the doctor. That is not bad considering the kind of wait times found elsewhere. The one star rating is mainly for the post treatment care. I spent more time talking to the desk people about my method of payment than on how I felt. This was my first (and last) visit to this particular clinic. I was berated by one of the desk people because I did not know they only accept full payments, not partial. I didn't have the money in full and offered to even walk a few blocks to the bank and get it, but she would not have it and instructed me to ask my brother, who was my ride, for the money. At that point I was baffled and didn't know how to respond. My mother left her work to see me and ended up paying for the whole procedure as well as the follow-up and medications - the latter of which I later realized I did not need. It was over $320 for two stitches and horrible service. They did not ask me for a pain rating from 1-10 at any point. Upon the first follow-up, the same desk lady from before tried to charge me again for the follow-up.. I kept cool and simply reminded the lady that my mother paid in full for everything already. One minute after telling me I owe $10, she took it back and said I was okay to go. Meanwhile the doctor is in and out of the room before you can ask any questions. This is case-in-point in why our health care system is in need of reform. A physician's incentive should be the care of a patient not of their wallet.
