Elise Wagner, M.S. CCC-SLP has been the Assistant Director of the Edward D. Mysak Clinic for Communication Disorders since the summer of 2005, having joined our staff in the fall of 2004. At the University of Pennsylvania, Ms. Wagner studied the Biological Basis of Behavior (biopsychology) and completed an unofficial minor in Spanish. At Sargent College of Boston University, she received, with distinction, a Master's degree in Communication Disorders. Working in a pediatric rehabilitation facility in Boston, she developed an interest in children with autism and communication differences and disabilities in bilingual/bicultural children. Her interests and expertise in pediatric populations were further enhanced with training in Neuro-Developmental Treatment, a holistic approach to working with cerebral palsied children. Returning to the New York area and focusing on bilingual/bicultural issues, she completed the bilingual extension of the NYS Teacher of Speech/Language Disordered certificate while servicing infants, toddlers and preschoolers at Cassidy's Place, until she joined our staff.
